Best MCPE Mods in 2025

Best MCPE Mods

This is for you if you’re searching for the Best MCPE Mods in 2025! Alright so vanilla Minecraft PE is fine for a while but let’s be real, you get bored eventually. Same mobs, same blocks, same everything. That’s why mods exist. The modding scene for PE has gotten way better over the past couple years. Used to be you’d find some mod that sounded cool, download it, and it’d either not work or crash your game immediately. Now there’s actually good stuff out there that works properly. What makes a mod worth installing in 2025? Few things. It’s gotta actually work without destroying your game – seems obvious but you’d be surprised.

Needs to add something useful or fun, not just reskin existing stuff. And honestly it shouldn’t lag your phone into oblivion because what’s the point if you’re getting 10 FPS. I’ve tried probably like 50+ mods over the past few months. Most were garbage or just copied other mods. But there’s maybe 10 or 15 that are actually worth your time and storage space. Some add new mobs and dimensions, others give you better tools and weapons, couple of them completely change how survival works. Whether you want your game harder, easier, more realistic, or just weirder, there’s probably a mod for it now. Here’s the ones that don’t suck.

If you haven’t installed mods before, check out our step-by-step guide on how to install mods in MCPE to get started.

Top Adventure & Exploration Mods

Exploration in regular Minecraft gets stale fast. You’ve seen one forest you’ve seen them all basically. These mods fix that.

Biomes Plus

This Mod adds like 40 new biomes. Volcanic wastelands, cherry blossom forests, crystal caves – stuff that actually makes you want to explore again. Some biomes have unique mobs too which is cool. Only downside is world generation takes longer but worth it.

The Aether

Addon brings back that floating sky dimension everyone loved from the PC mod. New blocks, new mobs, whole separate progression system up there. It’s huge though, takes up a lot of space on your phone and can lag older devices. But if your phone can handle it the Aether’s probably the best exploration mod available.

Dungeons and Taverns

Scatters random structures around your world. Actual dungeons with loot and spawners, taverns with villagers, abandoned towers, all that RPG stuff. Makes exploring less empty. You’re not just walking for 20 minutes seeing nothing anymore.

Ocean Overhaul

Makes underwater actually interesting instead of just annoying. New fish, coral types, underwater ruins that don’t suck, sea monsters. Swimming around is fun now instead of just searching for shipwrecks hoping for a decent enchant.

Best Building & Decoration Mods

Vanilla Minecraft’s building options are pathetic if we’re being honest. You end up using stairs as chairs and everyone’s base looks the same.

Furnicraft

Is the one everyone downloads first. Actual furniture – couches, tables, chairs that look like chairs, working toilets, kitchen appliances. Your builds finally look like places people live in instead of empty boxes with crafting tables. There’s different styles too, modern and medieval and whatever.

Macaw’s Furniture

has even more variety. Shelves that actually hold stuff, different bed designs, lighting options beyond torches and lanterns. Makes decorating way less frustrating. Works pretty smooth too, doesn’t tank FPS like some decoration mods do.

Chisel and Bits

Type mods for PE let you carve blocks into smaller pieces for detailed work. Want to make actual statues or intricate designs? This is it. Takes forever to build anything but the results look insane. Not for casual builders though, you need patience.

BlockCraftery

Or the PE version of it lets you retexture blocks. So you can make any block look like any other block. Sounds simple but it opens up crazy building possibilities. Stone texture on wool blocks? Sure. Glass texture on solid blocks? Why not.

Best Graphics & Shader Mods

Minecraft PE looks pretty rough out of the box. Blocky’s fine but the lighting’s flat and water looks like blue concrete.

ESBE 2G

Is still the king honestly. Been around forever, gets updated regularly, works on phones that aren’t flagship models. Water looks alive, shadows make sense, sky’s actually pretty. Doesn’t murder your framerate either which is the whole point. If you only get one shader get this.

Bicubic

For when your phone’s really struggling. Super lightweight, barely any performance hit, but colors pop more and lighting’s softer. Not dramatic but better than nothing. Works on like 2GB RAM phones which is rare.

Newb X Legacy

Is what I use now. More customizable than ESBE – you can turn individual features on and off depending what your phone handles. Torch lighting looks great, water’s reflective, and the sky actually changes colors properly during sunset. Needs a decent phone though, 3GB RAM minimum.

RRe36’s shader

If your phone’s actually good. This one’s ambitious – realistic shadows, light shafts, the works. Looks closer to PC shaders. But it’ll cook your phone and drain battery fast. Only worth it if you’ve got like a flagship from the last year or two.

Best Gameplay Enhancement Mods

These mods fix the annoying parts of Minecraft or add features that should’ve been in the game from the start.

Just Enough Items (JEI)

Or the PE version shows you every crafting recipe in the game. No more alt-tabbing to look up how to make something. Search any item, see the recipe right there. Saves so much time it’s ridiculous.

Inventory Profiles

Lets you sort your inventory with one button. Auto-organizes chests too. Sounds minor but once you have it you can’t go back to manually sorting 30 stacks of cobblestone.

Quark

Adds like 100 small improvements. Better minecart physics, slabs that actually stack right, backpacks, sleeping bags for one-time spawns. None of it’s gamebreaking, just makes everything smoother. The PE version doesn’t have everything the PC one does but still worth it.

Villager Trading Overhaul

Because vanilla villager trading is garbage. This mod makes trades actually useful and less random. You’re not cycling through 50 villagers hoping one has mending anymore.
